I love having a die cutter and heat press because I can make custom shirts, pillows, and so much more. Have you seen the cute customized tea towels? I think that having one hang on the stove helps make the kitchen look cozier.
Since I live in a farm house, of course I'm embracing the farmhouse theme. I hope it never ends because, well, I'm stuck with a farm house forever now!
My old farm house has some quirks, but at least it has character.
These farmhouse free SVG files for kitchen towels make great gifts, too. I go through a lot of tea towels with five people in the family. These can be used as a decoration and as a towel, so it's a functional gift that's also pretty.

I made six new designs for towels, but you can use them to make signs or anything else you'd like to make.
Die Cutter and Software
I use a Silhouette Cameo to cut my vinyl. I also have a Cricut Expression, but it's old and doesn't cut vinyl as well as the Cameo.
I am not a fan of the Silhouette software. I find it clunky and buggy. I'm a big fan of Sure Cuts a Lot (SCAL). I've never had a problem with it crashing or not working. It's also a lot easier to design in my opinion.
One thing that I really like about it is that I don't have to install all of my fonts. I have over 1,000 fonts, and that would really slow down my laptop!
I keep them in a separate folder, open one at a time, and click the font refresh button in SCAL. Then I can use that font as if it were installed.
Heat Press
I have the ShareProfit 5-in-1 heat press. I picked that one because it presses shirts and has a hat and mug attachment. I do sell shirts for a few clubs and organizations, and it works great.
I do have to double press on large designs to hit the top and the bottom. I'm paranoid and never want a dissatisfied customer, so I err on the side of caution.
The hat and mug attachment takes a few moments to put on, but I really like having the option to make hats and mugs. As for selling, I sell more shirts than anything else, but I do sell some hats for clubs and organizations.
Vinyl
I've tried several kinds of vinyl, but I always go back to Siser Easyweed. It cuts the best and presses the best for me.
Towels
I wanted affordable tea towels, but I still wanted to actually be able to use them. I really like these. They are a little over $1 each, so they are definitely affordable for gift giving.
