I'll admit that I spend most of my free time in November and December watching the Hallmark channel. This year, we have the movies and mysteries channel too. We like those movies better, but both channels have cute movies.
My neighbor also loves Hallmark movies. He's older and kinda gruff, so it's a little odd that he likes them. He's also cold all the time, so a Hallmark Christmas movie blanket was perfect for him.
I got it made today, so I wanted to share the SVG file with all of you in case you need a last minute gift.

I just love how this turned out! I'm a little upset that I didn't get myself a blanket so I could make one for myself, too.
This was the first time I heatpressed on a blanket. It won't be the last time though! I think it turned out really cute, and I can't wait to try more blankets.
Blanket
I picked up this red and black buffalo check throw blanket at Walmart this year. It's 50 inches by 60 inches and 100 percent polyester. It's super soft, but it did shed a lot.
I don't see the exact blanket that I used online, but this one is similar.
When shopping for a blanket, look for 100 percent polyester because that's the best for heat transfer vinyl.
Vinyl
When I got the idea, which was while in the store looking at the soft blankets, I couldn't remember what colors of HTV I had in stock. I ran to Hobby Lobby to pick up some gold, but I was not paying over $10 for a small bit of it.
So I crossed my fingers and checked my stash. I had scraps of white and a bigger scrap of yellow. I wasn't sure about the yellow, but it's dark and looks gold when I pressed it. It turned out perfect!
I use Siser Easyweed. I've tried a few other brands, but Siser not only cuts better but it also lasts longer. Get Siser from Expressions Vinyl or from Amazon
.Depending on the blanket, you could use other colors.
Software and Hardware
I use Sure Cuts a Lot to design my cut files. I have both a Cricut and a Silhouette. My Cricut is older, so the Silhouette cuts better. I also can't use Design Studio because I have slow Internet at home.
I'm not a fan of the Silhouette software. I bought SCAL when I could use it with my Cricut, so I've just been using that and paying for upgrades when they come out.
You could probably use a Circut Easy Press for this. I have one, but I just fired up the heat press since I had a few other things to press anyway.
