This strawberry air fryer pop tarts recipe is quick and easy to make. Use a premade pie crust and strawberry jelly for a semi homemade breakfast or dessert that even the kids can help make.
When I was pregnant with my middle son, I had severe morning (all day) sickness. I lived on green and red popsicles for weeks. Fun fact: I do not like green popsicles.
After that, the only thing that I could eat was strawberry Pop Tarts. It wasn't my ideal pregnancy meal, but it was the only thing I could stomach for over a month.
I ate them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While I do like strawberry Pop Tarts, that was a bit much for me.
Guess what my kid loves to eat 14 years later? Yep, strawberry Pop Tarts.
Unfortunately, he can't have red dye, so we have to make our own. I was so happy when I stumbled upon this quick and easy strawberry air fryer Pop Tarts recipe.
These are so easy, my kids can make them all by themselves.
Air Fryer Strawberry Pop Tarts Recipe
Even though I'm calling these Pop Tarts, don't try putting them in the toaster. Eat them warm from the air fryer instead. If we don't eat all of them, we just eat them at room temperature.
These are a lighter version of a Pop Tart. They still have sugar and flour, but they don't have the preservatives and artificial flavors and colors that the ones from the store have.
Note that you will have to check the ingredients of your pie crust and jam for artificial ingredient. Some may contain dyes.
Pie Crusts
I use premade pie crusts. I love to cook and bake, but pie crusts are not my friend. I've tried making them in a food processor and in my Kitchenaid mixer. Buying crusts is easier.
Feel free to make your own pie crusts. Or grab some the next time you're at the store. No judgement here.
Strawberry Jam
I used my homemade Instant Pot strawberry jam recipe to make these toaster pastries. My small batch vanilla peach jam would also be really good.
You can switch the strawberry jam for any flavor jam or jelly. Use your imagination and let the kids choose their favorite.
Vanilla Icing
I used icing from the store. I normally do make it since it's quick, easy, and tastes better. It's personal preference.
Air Fryer
I have the Nuwave Brio air fryer. I got it before the oven style air fryers came out. I really like it, but if it breaks I'll get a toaster oven size appliance.
We use our air fryer at least 5 times a week for lunches or dinners. I am still finding things that I can make in it too.
