Learn how to make blueberry air fryer bagels with Greek yogurt and no yeast. These can easily be made as a plain bagel. I added some chia seeds and flax seeds for some extra fiber and nutrition.
When I got my air fryer, I really didn't know what to do with it. The kids liked using it for fries and nuggets, but I really didn't use it for much else for a long time.
Then I started seeing more and more recipes on the Internet, and I started using it for more things. Now we use it for all kinds of foods, and I prefer the air fryer to turning on the oven, especially during the summer.
My kids love blueberry bagels. I had never made them before, but then I came across an easy way to make bagels in an air fryer.
I played with the recipe and added some chia seeds and flax seeds to sneak in a little bit extra nutrition. I also added blueberries for their vitamins and minerals and for the taste.
These blueberry air fryer bagels with Greek yogurt are easy to make. My kids are all teens, and they can make them by themselves.
Blueberry Air Fryer Bagels With Greek Yogurt
How Do You Air Fry a Bagel?
Air frying a bagel is easy. Just make your bagel and place in the air fryer basket. Then set to 330 degrees F and cook for 8 minutes, shaking them after 5 minutes.
How to Toast a Bagel in an Air Fryer
You can also toast a premade bagel in your air fryer. Cut a cooled bagel in half. Set the temperature to 365 degrees. Place the bagel on the rack and air fry for 3 minutes.
Then spread butter on the bagel and cook for another 3 minutes.
What is the Best Flour For Bagels?
I prefer to use bread flour. Bread flour has more protein than regular flour, so the bagels are more dense and have a chewy texture.
You can also use all purpose flour if you don't have bread flour, but the bagel will be softer and more soft and airy.
If you use self-rising flour, omit the baking powder in this blueberry air fryer bagels with Greek yogurt recipe.
You can also use whole wheat flour. I recommend substituting up to half of the flour for whole wheat flour.
Air Fryer Bagel Variations
I made mine blueberry because that's what my kids love. You can omit the blueberries and make these plain. Or try one of the following bagel variations:
- Poppy seed bagels: Add 1 tablespoon poppy seeds to dough. Add more to the top as needed.
- Sesame seed bagels: Add 1 tablespoon sesame seeds. Add more to the top as needed.
- Cheese bagels: Add 2 tablespoons shredded cheese to the dough.
- Cinnamon sugar bagels: Add 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar to the dough.
Yogurt
I use unflavored Greek yogurt to make my air fryer bagels. I make my own Instant Pot cold start yogurt recipe and use that.
You can also use non-Greek yogurt in this recipe. If you are making a sweet bagel, you can use vanilla flavored yogurt.
