How to Make Chocolate Shot Glasses
Choosing The Perfect Chocolate
For your chocolate shot glasses to be perfect, you are going to need a perfect chocolate. There are many types of high quality chocolate out there, including some great products you can find over at Etsy!
Hershey's chocolate will also work. It will have a softer consistency, so be sure to keep them in the fridge until you're ready to serve.
Chocolate Shot Glass Mold
There are a few different ways to make chocolate shot glasses, but this is very easy thanks to the mold. I used the Wilton shot glass mold.
You can use it with ice, chocolate, and even soaps or wax to make different things.
Chocolate Melter
In order to pour the chocolate into the mold, you are going to need a chocolate melter. I recommend a Wilton brand chocolate melter for their superior quality.
I use a Wilson chocolate melter for all kinds of recipes at home. This one melts easier, and it's more reliable and hands off compared to using a double boiler.
The pot holds up to two and a half cups of chocolate, which can be melted in less than 10 minutes. It is also incredibly easy to clean after use. Just wait until the candy hardens and pop it out of the silicone for an easy clean.
The pot is also great for dipping as it has both a melt and warm setting. Additionally, it is very safe with rubber feet and a base that stays cool to the touch, which is perfect if you have little ones running around!
Not only is it great at melting chocolate, but it can melt all sorts of candies for any recipe or occasion.
I've burnt chocolate by melting it in the microwave, so I don't recommend it. Others use it often with success.
Before I got the melter, I used a double boiler. You can also make your own double boiler easily. Just place a mason jar or glass bowl inside a pan of water.
Make sure the glass isn't touching the bottom of the pan. If it is, put a mason jar ring under it to lift it. You want indirect heat from the warm water and not direct heat from the pan.
You can also use an Instant Pot as a double boiler to melt chocolate.
Today, we are going to be making hot chocolate in our chocolate shot glasses. Simply omit the hot chocolate if you want to just make the glasses.
