How to make an easy embroidery hoop Christmas decoration DIY. This is an easy Dollar Tree Christmas craft that only takes a few minutes to make. It would be a cute gift idea, and you can customize it for different seasons.
I decided that I was sick of my Christmas decorations this year. While I wish I could just run to the store and buy all new decorations, but alas my budget doesn't allow it.
I have Balsam Hill tastes on a Dollar Tree budget unfortunately.
Luckily, I have a glue gun and have been blessed with some creative skills.
It was time for a Dollar Tree run for some new holiday decor. My Dollar Tree is conveniently located next to a charity thrift store.
Between the two, I knew that I could get some new farmhouse Christmas decor DIY ideas.
Embroidery Hoop Christmas Decoration
This year, I made a Dollar Tree farmhouse ornament with bottle brush trees, Dollar Tree Christmas sign, and a Dollar Tree Dinosaur Ornament.
I had some smaller spaces to fill on the walls, so I made some embroidery hoop Christmas decoration DIYs. These are really easy, and you can make it in under an hour.
Fabric
I picked up the poinsettia fabric at the thrift store. My Dollar Tree does have some fabric, so you can use that if you can find it.
Don't forget to look at the scarves and the placemats. Those could make really cute embroidery hoop wall hangings.
My Dollar Tree had some black and white buffalo plaid placemats. They also have some thicker scarves with the winter gear that would be perfect.
These would be really cute fabrics for farmhouse Christmas decor DIYs.
Embroidery Hoop
I got my hoop at the thrift store. I picked them up whenever I see them because I know that I'll use it for something eventually.
For this embroidery hoop Christmas decoration, I used a smaller hoop. I had a small wall to put it on. Of course, you can use a larger one. As long as the fabric fits, you can make this with a larger hoop.
I use nice hoops for actual embroidery, but I use cheap ones for crafts. You can also paint it if you want to. I liked the natural color with this fabric.
You can get single embroidery hoops on Etsy. If you are making several embroidery hoop farmhouse Christmas decor DIYs, then you can get them in sets on Amazon.
Ribbon and Greenery
After I found my hoop and fabric, I headed next door to Dollar Tree. There, I picked up the burlap and the faux Christmas greenery.
Dollar Tree is always my go to for faux greenery. They have some really cute ones in seasonal and in the greenery aisle.
Their poinsettias are always really pretty. Since I used a poinsettia fabric, I went with a snow covered branch for this embroidery hoop Christmas decoration. It has a farmhouse Christmas decor DIY vibe for sure.
I use Dollar Tree burlap ribbon for a lot of different DIYs. I cut the burlap and pulled some of the strands out to give it a more rustic look.
If your Dollar Tree doesn't have burlap, the next best place to get it is on Etsy. You can choose your size, and it's cheaper than other stores if you don't need a lot.
I admit that I'm not much of a bow maker. I never have been. For this embroidery hoop Christmas decoration, I just folded the burlap in half and spread the two ends slightly.
If you have bow making skills, then you can add a bow. Or skip the ribbon and just use greenery, but I liked the layered look.
