Fruity Pebbles Cupcakes With Box Cake Mix
Did you know that can put Fruity Pebbles in cake mix? You sure can!
There are Duncan Hines Fruity Pebbles cupcakes that come in a kit, but it's around $5 for one box to make one batch cupcakes. Ouch.
I came up with my own Fruity Pebbles cupcakes with cake mix recipe, so they are still easy to make, but you'll save some cash.
I didn't even know that there was a box mix. I made Fruit Pebbles bread, and it turned out really good. So I wanted to try the cereal in cupcakes and discovered that it was already a think. Great minds and all that.

What Flavor is Fruity Pebbles?
Fruity Pebbles cereal has changed its formula over the years. It used to just have orange, yellow, and red cereal and taste like orange, tangerine, and lemon.
Purple, green, blue, and pink were added later. Now it's flavored with orange, lemon, and cherry.
Fruity Pebbles was based on The Flintstones TV show and was introduced in 1971. Although it's had some changes, it's still the oldest cereal that's based on a TV show or movie.
What Makes Cupcakes More Moist?
You can follow the directions on the box to make Fruity Pebble cupcakes with cake mix. You can also use one of these boxed cake mix hacks to doctor your cake mix.
You can add an extra egg or add a 3.4 ounce box of pudding mix for most cupcakes.
What Makes a Cupcake Fluffy?
For fluffy Fruity Pebbles cupcakes, use egg whites and add a tablespoon of melted butter for each egg yolk you omit.
You can also add 3/4 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream to the batter. I use my Instant Pot cold start yogurt recipe.
Why Are My Cupcakes Dry?
Cupcakes get dry from too much flour or sugar or not enough water. Adding some yogurt or sour cream to these Fruity Pebble cupcake with box cake mix will fix that problem.
How High Do You Fill Cupcakes?
You should fill your cupcake liners about 2/3 full with cupcake batter. You can use a cupcake scoop for evenly sized cupcakes without the mess.
You can also use a #20 ice cream scoop. These hold 1.52 ounces, which is 3 tablespoons of batter.
How Do I Get My Cupcakes to Rise Higher?
To make these Fruity Pebbles cupcakes rise higher, let the eggs come to room temperature. Then avoid over mixing the batter.
High temperature can prevent cupcakes from rising. I recommend using an oven thermometer to make sure your oven is the right temperature.
Also make sure the oven is preheated when you place the cupcakes in the oven and avoid opening the door until it's time to check on them.
Should You Grease Cupcake Liners?
You don't need to grease the cupcake liners to make Duncan Hines Fruity Pebbles cupcakes. However, a nonstick spray will help them release easier.
I don't spray them personally, but if it's a special occasion, then you may want to spray them just so they look pretty.
How Do You make Buttercream With Cereal and Milk?
I didn't do this for my cupcakes with Fruity Pebbles in cake mix, but you can get more Fruity Pebble flavor in the frosting by soaking equart parts cereal and heavy whipping cream.
To do this, combine the milk and cereal in a bowl. Then let it sit for half an hour.
Strain out the cereal using a fine mesh sieve. Compost the cereal and reserve the milk.
Use the flavored heavy whipping cream to make the frosting as directed.
