How to make an easy spiked apple cider cocktail.  This delicious fall drink has apple cider and Crown Royal Apple for an easy and delicious drink for autumn.  You can serve it hot or cold, and it's a great complement to hot apple cider for a crowd.

I bought some Crown Royal Apple last year, and I'm having fun trying new drinks and recipes.  It's a really good flavored whiskey that's perfect for fall.  

I love apple cider, so I decided to try to make a spiked apple cider recipe.  

This is a very easy spike apple cider, but I have some variations that you can make to fit your needs.

Why You'll Love This Spiked Apple Cider Whiskey

You'll love this apple cider cocktail because it's so easy to make!  You only need two ingredients to make, but you can add some sliced apples for garnish if desired.  

Even with a simple recipe, this apple cider with whiskey is versatile.  You can make a hot spiked apple cider or a spiked apple cider cold.

I like to make hot apple cider for the crowd and offer the Crown Royal Apple whiskey on the side.  Guests can make their own easy spiked apple cider or enjoy the cider as a nonalcoholic drink.

If you want to serve this hot spiked apple cider for a crowd, you can make it in a slow cooker.  Just keep in mind that the alcohol will evaporate as it sits.

What Is the Best Alcohol to Spike Apple Cider?

I used Crown Royal Apple to make my spiked apple cider recipe.  However, you can replace it with one of the following:

• Rum - any rum will work, but dark rum has more flavor
• Bourbon
• Tequila
• Vodka - try caramel vodka or whipped cream vodka
• Sparkling wine - try this apple cider mimosa recipe
• Cognac

 

How Do I Spike My Cider?

You can either spike your Crown Royal apple cider by the glass or by the pitcher or Crock Pot.  I made apple cider with Crown Royal, but you can also make it with one of the alcohol varieties listed above.

How to Make a Spiked Apple Cider Recipe for a Crowd

This spiked apple cider recipe makes one glass, but you can easily make  it for a crowd.  To make it for a crowd, combine 8 cups of apple cider with 1 cup of Crown Royal Apple whiskey.

How to Make Spiked Apple Cider Whiskey Hot

To make hot spiked apple cider, place 8 cups of apple cider and 1 cup of Crown Royal Apple in a slow cooker.  Heat on low until hot and then switch to keep warm.

Spiked Apple Cider Whiskey Variations

Here are some variations to try for your apple cider with Crown Royal:

• You can start with a jug of apple cider or make easy hot apple cider or mulled apple cider.
• For all of the flavors of fall, try a pumpkin cider recipe.
• Make hot apple cider and whiskey in a slow cooker or spiked apple cider cold by chilling the cider before adding the alcohol.
• You can use unflavored Crown Royal, vodka, whipped cream vodka, or a dark rum to make your spiked apple cider recipe.
• Use star anise, cinnamon sticks, or cut apple slices for garnish.
• Add a splash of orange juice or cut oranges for a deeper flavor.
• Add a handful of cranberries if serving a hot spiked apple cider.

To make Crown Royal apple cider, you will need:

• 8 ounces apple cider
• 1 ounce Crown Royal Apple
• Ice
• Sliced apples for garnish (optional)

You can also use 8 cups of apple cider and 1 cup of Crown Royal Apple to serve for a crowd.

How to Make Spiced Apple Cider With Crown Royal

Step #1

Fill a glass with ice.  Pour in 1 shot of Crown Royal Apple.

Step #2

Fill with apple cider.  

Step #3

Garnish with cut apple slices if desired.
