These easy Christmas cinnamon rolls will be a hit for Christmas breakfast. They start with a can of cinnamon rolls, so they are very easy to make. I made mine in a cute Santa hat shape for Santa cinnamon rolls.
Christmas Breakfast Cinnamon Rolls
Before kids, I would make a big breakfast for Christmas. After kids, I realized that it was not practical because I didn't want to be stuck in the kitchen Christmas morning.
Besides, I was a tired elf. Moms have a lot of late nights helping Santa, and we would like to have a day off too!
So I started making cinnamon rolls or an easy French toast casserole recipe. My kids also really like the TikTok cinnamon rolls with heavy cream.
I wanted something easy to make but still themed, so I came up with Santa cinnamon rolls that look like Santa's famous hat.
They are easy to make with a can of cinnamon rolls, premade red icing, and some mini marshmallows.
You can also use a can of cinnamon rolls to make these fun Grinch cinnamon rolls.

How to Cook Christmas Cinnamon Rolls
You can either bake these Santa cinnamon rolls in the oven or in an air fryer. If you use the oven, then follow the directions on the package of rolls that you used.
The air fryer does a great job with breads and bread like foods. It makes them light and fluffy inside better than the oven does.
The air fryer is also quicker and uses less energy to cook. To make easy Christmas cinnamon rolls in an air fryer, preheat it to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes.
Santa Hat Cinnamon Roll Variations
Although these Christmas cinnamon rolls are pretty easy to make, you can have some fun and get creative with them!
- You can make a Santa face by making the rolls round. Then use red icing to make the hat trimmed with marshmallows and use white icing for the beard.
- Use white icing instead of marshmallows.
- Use white icing all over the cinnamon rolls and use red colored sugar.
- You can use the icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls and dye it read. However, it is lighter than the red cookie icing that I used.
Christmas Breakfast Cinnamon Rolls Ingredients
This is what you need to make Santa cinnamon rolls:
Cinnamon Rolls - I used Walmart brand cinnamon rolls, but Aldi's brand is my favorite. I prefer them to the name brand. You can use your favorite brand of cinnamon rolls.
Red Icing - You can make your own cream cheese or buttercream frosting. I bought red premade cookie frosting to make things simple.
Marshmallows - Use mini marshmallows for the white trim around Santa's hat.
How to Make Santa Cinnamon Rolls
Step #1
Preheat the oven to the temperature listed on the cinnamon rolls that you are using. If you are using an air fryer, preheat to 350 degrees F.
Step #2
Unroll each cinnamon roll. Then zig zag them back and forth so they look like a triangle or Santa's hat.
Step #3
Bake for 6 to 8 minutes in an air fryer or as directed on the package for oven directions.
Step #4
Let cool for a minute or two. Then use the red frosting to decorate.
Step #5
Add mini marshmallows on top of Santa's hat for the ball and then on the bottom of the hat for the fur trim.
I hope you like these Santa hat cinnamon rolls! These are easy Christmas cinnamon rolls, but your kids will love them!
