Hot Chocolate Cookie Variations
I made a peppermint hot cocoa cookies recipe, but you can change the toppings if you want to. Here are some variations to try:
- Try using a red velvet cake mix for a different flavor.
- Add chopped nuts on top of the cookies.
- Add caramel chips for more flavor and texture.
- Use cinnamon chips and a pinch of chili powder for Mexican hot chocolate.
- Top with freeze dried marshmallows.
How to Store Hot Chocolate Mix Cookies
To keep your hot cocoa cookies fresh and delicious, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. Be sure to seal the container tightly to prevent air and moisture from seeping in, as exposure to humidity can cause the cookies to become stale.
With proper storage, your hot cocoa cookies will stay soft and chewy for several days, though they're likely to disappear much sooner than that!
You can also freeze leftovers, but it might make the toppings soggy when you thaw them.
