This cute farmhouse organizer basket is made with Dollar Tree supplies. It's a Dollar Tree cutting board craft and also uses a Dollar Tree wood crate. I used mine for holding K Cups for my coffee, but you can use it anywhere in your home. It would be a great bathroom or bedroom organizer, and you can hang it on the wall.
Dollar Tree Plastic Cutting Board Crafts
I had a bunch of Dollar Tree crates sitting here after I made these farmhouse style coasters. I needed something to hold my coffee pods at my office, but I had to be a little extra instead of just using a plain wood crate.
I need my counter space in my commercial kitchen for making food, so I wanted something that could be hung on the wall. I headed to the store and found that a Dollar Tree cutting board would be a good addition.
This is a simple Dollar Tree farmhouse decor idea, but you can customize it to make it your own.
- Add cute stickers or vinyl decals to the cutting board to match your decor.
- Paint the wood crate any color you wish.
- Use Dollar Tree sticker sheets or contact paper to cover the cutting board.
- Add a bow or other seasonal decor to change it for the seasons.
I used mine for coffee pods. We don't use a lot at the office, but I wanted to have them setting out for anyone who stops by for a meeting.
You can also use this for cotton balls, make up, or anything else that needs contained.
Supplies and Materials
Here's what you'll need:
- Dollar Tree White Plastic Cutting Board
- Hot Glue Gun
- Dollar Tree small wooden crate
- Paint Brush
- Waverly Hazelnut Chalk Paint (any brown paint works though)
- Scissors
- Black and white checkered ribbon (I got mine from dollar Tree)
- Rub on designs (dollar tree, found in the sticker section)
Directions
Step #1
Paint the wood crate brown. Let dry completely.
Step #2
Cut out the rub ons. Leave the back sheet on them until you are ready to use them. Remove the backer when you're ready to press it on the cutting board. Use a wood craft stick or a plastic card to gently rub over the rub on to transfer it to the cutting board.
Step #3
Use your glue gun to add strips of hot glue along one side of the craft and then attach it to the plastic cutting board.
Step #4
Cut a 6 inch piece of ribbon and make a bow. I created the two loops and then flipped the pieces so it would create a center piece, then applied a dab of hot glue to the center to get the ribbon to adhere to itself and then add a piece to the back to then press firmly onto the cutting board. I pinched the ends together and cut at an angle.
That's it! That's all that you need to do to make a simple Dollar Tree plastic cutting board craft.
